Thirty-four-year-old former actress Jessica Mann testified Friday that sixty-seven-year-old Harvey Weinstein assaulted her more than once after meeting her at a party in 2013, including raping her in a Manhattan hotel room, according to The Daily Beast. Weinstein, who dozed off repeatedly during Mann’s testimony, has pled not guilty to five criminal sexual charges, including three related to his alleged incidents with Mann, and two involving Miriam Haleyi, a former production assistant on Bravo’s Project Runway (2004-). Mann’s second day of testimony was cut short Monday after she burst into tears while reading an email to an ex-boyfriend from May 2014 wherein she first accused Weinstein of sexual assault.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Scarlett Johansson has joined the likes of Anjelica Huston and Javier Bardem in defending Woody Allen against sexual abuse allegations from his adopted daughter, Dylan Farrow, according to The Guardian. Other artists, such as Timothée Chalamet, Greta Gerwig, as well as Colin Firth, say they regret working with the filmmaker, who is waging a legal battle right now with Amazon over their termination of a four-film agreement after remarks he made about #MeToo. Johansson, a founding member of Time’s Up, starred in Allen’s Match Point (2005), Scoop (2006), and Vicky Cristina Barcelona (2008).
Filmmaker, actress, and progressive Haley Webb accused co-star Kevin Sorbo of sexually harassing her whilst filming Alejandro Itkin and Hunter Carson’s Single in South Beach (2015) on Thursday over Twitter, according to The Daily Dot. The thirty-three-year-old Webb alleges that the sixty-year-old Sorbo openly shamed her on set when she turned down his advances, then insisted on shooting a gratuitous sex scene between their two characters. Webb’s claim was a response to a tweet Sorbo posted Tuesday in defense of Sarah Huckabee Sanders; Sorbo, who has yet to reply to Webb, is a Christian film staple, starring in Harold Cronk’s God’s Not Dead (2014).
